KPMG supplies tax know-how to our clients: we advise businesses on how taxation fits into the broader business picture and implement decisions that deliver real value. We gain an in-depth understanding of our clients' needs and then provide insights to help them optimize costs - things like where in the world they should base their business to ensure they take advantage of the best tax incentives, and how they should organize their internal structure and tax department - extremely important factors, which can determine cost effectiveness.

What will I do in Tax?

We’re looking for intern in Global Mobility Services (GMS) group of Tax department. GMS is focused on provision of tax compliance and advisory services for individuals (both KZ citizens and foreign individuals), including determination of personal tax filing obligations in Kazakhstan, preparation of personal income tax returns (forms 250.00/270.00), assistance with obtainment of various tax certificates for individuals, communication with tax authorities on individuals’ tax matters, support companies and international assignees providing advices on individual taxation and filling obligations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assistance in preparation of personal income tax calculations and declarations.
  • Assistance in conducting tax briefings and completing of briefing checklists.
  • Assistance in preparation of draft deliverables and responses on various tax issues in Russian and English.
  • Assistance in calculation of payroll related taxes and social contributions.
  • Assistance in preparation of proposals, client reports and recommendations.
  • Communication with state revenue offices on various tax issues.
  • Provision of daily support to Senior Staff.

What do I need?

  • A university degree of the following or related specialties: Finance, Accounting (audit), Mathematics, Economics, Business administration.
  • Fluent English.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Willingness to learn and develop professionally.
  • Basic knowledge of Kazakh tax and accounting legislation is preferable.
  • Ability to work full-time.
