Chief Technology Officer, Sberbank India (Bangalore)

About the role:

We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer – Head of Bangalore IT HUB with extensive international corporate experience to join our team at the IT-Hub in Bangalore, India.

IT Hub is a modern development center equipped with server facilities built according to the Bank's standards within India’s Silicon Valley. The main focus of this hub is to develop an integrated suite of automated systems for the Indian Branch of Sberbank.

Responsibilities:

• Administratively manage the IT Hub and its team in Bangalore city (currently over 250 local employees)
• Management of IT infrastructure, implementation and adaptation of software at the Branch
• Resolve escalated issues within the scope of IT hub activities with the Branch and/or Head Office
• Interact with product leaders and IT leads on prioritization and provisioning developer and QA resources to product teams
• Oversee large projects related to Data Centers, biometrics, etc.
• Participate in negotiations with landlords, local regulators, government authorities (state/city representatives) regarding operational matters of the IT hub
• Lead the process of approval and signing off documents associated with the activity of the IT hub with relevant departments of the HQ
• Organize receptions for delegations from Bank management, Russian diplomatic mission representatives in India, representatives of the Russian Government and other official persons at the IT hub

Requirements:

• Higher education degree
• Willingness to relocate to Bangalore, India
• Relevant experience as a CTO for at least 5 years in banking or IT sector
• Experience managing large distributed teams, including international ones (experience working with Indian market - must)
• Current experience collaborating with Indian vendors/regulators and other governmental bodies in India
• Proven track record in cross-cultural teams
• Fluency in both Russian and English languages (spoken and written)
• Strong communication skills
• Proficiency in preparing presentation materials
• Hands-on experience using AI tools
• Analytical mindset and systematic thinking approach
