About the Role:
ITEC is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and innovative Academic Director to lead the development of its AngloBridge Academy, a weekend and holiday programme designed to complement the UK curriculum for international and bilingual students in Moscow. This is a key role with responsibility for driving the commercial growth of the programme and is ideal for a senior teacher or middle leader with UK curriculum experience, strong team leadership skills, and a passion for student-centred learning.

Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership & Curriculum Development:
- Design, review and enhance the academic structure and curriculum of the Project, aligned with UK standards, education trends and best practice and adapted to the needs of our learners.
- Develop engaging thematic units and termly projects that link subject learning with creative and real-world outcomes.
- Plan and oversee “Theme Days” that enrich the educational experience and promote cross-curricular links.
- Devise special event days, such as open days and graduation ceremonies.
Staff Leadership & Management:
- Line manage the teaching team, including onboarding, professional development, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, collaborative staff culture focused on innovation, student progress, and professional excellence.
- Provide regular mentoring and coaching to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
Student Admissions & Placement:
- Lead academic interviews and assessments for prospective students, ensuring appropriate placement according to ability and learning needs.
- Support the Admissions Team by advising on class groupings and personalised learning plans where required.
- Monitor student progress and advise on additional support or extension opportunities.
Quality Assurance & Reporting:
- Establish systems for monitoring teaching quality and student outcomes including regular assessments and end of year tests.
- Conduct lesson observations, learning walks, and reviews of planning and assessment.
- Produce academic reports for parents.
Candidate Profile:
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree + PGCE (or equivalent teaching qualification)
- Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in UK or British international schools
- Experience in curriculum development and team leadership
- Ability to inspire and manage a diverse teaching team
- Strong understanding of the UK National Curriculum and assessment practices
- Creative and strategic thinker with excellent communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of delivering co-curricular programmes
- Comfortable working in a bilingual, multicultural environment
Desirable:
- Experience working in international or supplementary schools
- Understanding of EAL pedagogy
Working pattern:
- The role requires weekend work during the delivery of the programme.
- It is a full time, office based role with holiday to be taken out of term time.
