Senior HV/MV Electrical Engineer

Juru is looking for a Senior HV/MV Electrical Engineer for Transmission & Distribution practice based in Tashkent. You will be a part of multidisciplinary team working on a wide range of large-scale projects including generation substations of PV Plants, Wind Farms and CCGT/Hydrogen Plants, as well as HV/EHV utility substations to deliver high-quality design on time, ensuring the compliance with international and local design and safety standards & regulations.

Job responsibilities:

• Develop basic and detailed design that includes preparing drawings such as single-line diagrams, physical layouts & sections, grounding layout, conduit and cable routing for HV/EHV substations up to 500 kV;
• Perform various engineering calculations for HV equipment;
• Prepare equipment specifications and datasheets & BOQ for substation HV/MV components (Transformers, Compensators, Reactors, Harmonic filters, AIS/GIS Switchgear components, etc.) and review vendor and OEM drawings;
• Review substation construction package detailing equipment & building foundation for compliance with electrical designs;
• Close collaboration with vendors and manufacturers to specify the appropriate electrical equipment and ensure that equipment meets the project requirements;
• Coordinates design activities with clients/stakeholder to maintain project schedules, budget, quality requirements to ensure successful project completion;
• Coordinate with various disciplines, review work done by other team members;
• Advise on new designs, technologies, and construction methods and design change issues;
• Act as a mentor, lead and guide junior and middle engineers in performing delegated tasks;
• Liaise with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders;
• Field visits within projects, if required.

Professional requirements:

• Bachelor or master's degree in electrical engineering;
• +7 years of experience in engineering design of HV/EHV substations;
• Experience with fast-track and large-scale engineering projects and/or multiple significant rehabilitation/modernization projects;
• Excellent command of English both written and verbal;
• Strong knowledge of international standards, codes and guidelines (IEC, IEEE, CIGRE, NEC etc.);
• Familiarity with Uzbekistan & CIS codes and standards is an asset;
• Independent user of AutoCAD, Microsoft office packages and Google Workspace;
• Working experience in ETAP, Primtech and Revit software is a big plus;
• An ability and willingness to think outside of the box to develop creative and innovative solutions to reduce costs with no impact on quality, reliability, and maintainability;
• Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/construction;
• Good communication, analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills;
• Approachable, a good listener, well organized, diligent, self-motivated, and career-oriented;
• Ability to work in a team-oriented workspace and adapt to the new fast-growing dynamic environment;
