English Language Arts & Humanities Teacher

Canadian International School – Astana is seeking a full-time, qualified and passionate English Language Arts & Humanities Teacher to join our dynamic international team. The successful candidate will deliver the British Columbia (Canada) curriculum to students in Grades 10 and/or 11.

Key Responsibilities:

• Teach English Language Arts & Humanities following BC curriculum guidelines.

• Maintain effective classroom management and student discipline.

• Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, clubs, and supervision duties.

• Collaborate with colleagues and school leadership to support student success.

• Serve as a role model for students, demonstrating professionalism and ethical conduct.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Education (preferably from a Canadian university or equivalent).

• BC Teaching Certificate or eligibility to obtain one.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Cross-cultural sensitivity and ability to work in an international environment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, communication platforms (e.g. Skype), and social media tools.

• Familiarity with PowerSchool or similar student information systems is an asset.
